I got my first bb gun when I was about 6 years old and my parents let me use it anytime I wanted without supervision. We lived in the country though so we didn't have neighbors. However, one time I was at my cousin's and we were shooting our guns in his back yard and one of us accidentally shot through his neighbors kitchen window and shot her in the nect as she was washing dishes. Our parents had to pay her medical bills and lost wages - but we didn't have to go on JJ.
